About The Role: The New Horizons Program provides early intervention, counselling and clinical outreach support to families with children and young people (0-18 years) who are showing early signs of mental health concerns or are at risk of developing such. In this role you will engage with vulnerable families via a psycho-social assessment process and tailored intervention planning, with a focus on improving children’s and young people’s mental health and wellbeing outcomes. Our service is designed to successfully foster and maintain clients’ engagement via home visits, school or community-based sessions, outreach counselling and support, psychoeducation group work, telehealth and effective referral pathways. New Horizons practice is grounded in attachment and family systems theory. Our interventions are child-centred and family-focused. They are brought to life by a range of evidence-based modalities, each counsellor’s individual style and areas of expertise and practice interest.
