Job description

Under the direction of Inpatient Pharmacy Services, follows established policies and procedures to perform a variety of routine technical and clerical support tasks that are integral to the operation of the pharmaceutical Department. Tasks include preparation of unit dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, intravenous admixtures, cytotoxic and other investigational drugs. These tasks are designed to assist the department in the preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies and require the authorized review and check of a licensed pharmacist. Also responsible for stocking and reordering of pharmacy supplies, assisting in mail-out orders and replenishing of nursing floor stock. Maintains appropriate patient computer and manual records, and performs computer order entry of patient orders. Assists in nursing unit inspections. Assists with management of investigational drugs. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
