Job description

Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Skilled, trained and certified in one of the competency areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, steam control, and related building systems and equipment. Certification and proven competency required in area of competency identified. Provides guidance to maintenance mechanics and assigns and schedules work. Interprets departmental and organizational policies and procedures for staff to ensure consistent practices. Picks-up and distributes work assignments and gives direction to ensure work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Schedules, monitors and directs workflow. Observes and reviews work produced by staff to maintain efficiency and timely services. Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, schematics and written technical documents of general machineries to locate area of trouble and complete repairs accurately. Performs preventive maintenance on related equipment, buildings and building systems to ensure safe and proper operations. Shuts down equipment prior to scheduled repairs if necessary.
