Job description

The primary responsibility of the Research Scientist will be to conduct wet-lab research using in vitro and in vivo models of brain injury and neurodegeneration under the supervision of the lab head. The duties include conducting experiments independently, data analysis, contributing to writing manuscripts, and maintaining and managing inventory. The candidate is expected to be well-organized, work on existing and new projects under the PI’s guidance as needed, work well in a group setting, and maintain detailed and accurate experimental records (lab notebook). Experience with mammalian cell culture, animal handling, tissue dissection, and basic molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation, quantification, agarose gel electrophoresis, etc., is required. - Maintain mammalian cell cultures, manage animal inventory, perform tissue dissections, process samples, conduct experiments, analyze and present data, train students. - Materials ordering, inventory management, documentation, and records management. - Organization of the laboratory space and providing experimental support to other lab personnel.
