Terms and conditions apply** The Surgical Technologist III WIP (operating room scrub technician) possesses advanced skills in assigned specialty area and maintains knowledge and skills to function competently on any team based on departmental needs. This job sets up sterile field, gathers supplies for surgical cases based on knowledge of instruments and equipment to be used. The Surgical Technologist III WIP role passes instruments to surgeons during surgery. This role also formulates plans for procedures with nurses and surgeons. The Surgical Technologist III WIP plans and facilitates quality assurance and/or performance improvement activities. This position serves as a resource and preceptor to Surgical Technologists I and II in their assigned specialty area. This position demonstrates advanced skills in practice specialty. This position also functions under the direct supervision of an RN circulator.
