Job DetailsJob Location: Omaha Zoo - Omaha, NE 68107Position Type: Full TimeJob Title: Keeper - Aquarium Birds FLSA Status: Non-exempt: Classification: Full-time: Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (anticipated days off to be Tuesday/Thursday) Pay Rate: Range starts at $18.62/hour Summary: We are seeking a keeper in the Aquarium Birds department. The keeper in the Penguin/Alcid department are responsible for the daily feeding, cleaning, and general care of the three exhibits in the Kingdom of the Seas Aquarium. This includes, but not limited to the Penguins and Alcids. This position reports to the Birds Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Daily care of animal collection Record daily feed and animal observations. Animal enrichment: Monitor behavior and changes in animal health. Assist veterinary staff with procedures of animals in collection. Perform cold water diving. Interact with zoo guests and provide informational facts on aquarium birds. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: B.S., B.A. in Biology, or related field preferred. Must be 18 years or older. Scuba certified preferred.
