Job description

Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician for the Housing Maintenance department. The primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to manage general repairs and other maintenance needs for Housing & Residence Life buildings, equipment and other property and may perform lead worker duties over temporary staff including students. Duties and Responsibilities of Position: 45% Environmental Upkeep and Prevention 20% Environmental Maintenance & Education 20% Electrical 5% Carpentry 5% Plumbing 5% Miscellaneous maintenance - Monitor and maintain accurate records of assessments, reports, and follow-up actions related to healthy environment management. - Conduct regular inspections of residential facilities to identify early signs of mildew, mold, or moisture-related concerns. - Implement preventive measures and maintenance strategies to reduce humidity and ensure proper ventilation in living and common spaces. - Coordinate timely cleaning, remediation, or professional treatment of affected areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment. - Maintain Synexis air purifier units. - Provide information to residents and staff on moisture prevention p...
