Core Job Summary: The Specialized Security Services Officer (SSSO) is a highly trained member of the Public Safety team responsible for rapid response to high-risk incidents, including active shooter or armed intruder threats. This position requires advanced tactical readiness, exceptional judgment under pressure, and a commitment to protecting life and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and medical personnel across all UHealth facilities. The SSSO serves as a visible deterrent to potential violence, responds decisively to immediate life-threatening events, and operates as part of a coordinated tactical unit to contain and stabilize critical incidents until law enforcement arrives.
