Department: 60901 Navicent Health Medical Center - Lab Status: Part time Benefits Eligible: No Hou rs Per Week: 0 Schedule Details/Additional Information: PRN 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM: Every other weekend: Pay Range: $19.80 - $29.70 Job Summary: Collects and transports blood samples from inpatients and outpatients. Monitor drug screen collections and document chain of custody. Review workload and resolve issues. Assists with clerical duties and provides specimen and report transport when necessary. Major Responsibilities: Performs venipuncture, capillary fingerstick or heel puncture as appropriate for inpatients and outpatients, using expertise to determine proper mode of collection for each patient in order to cause the least discomfort and obtain the highest quality sample. Uses judgment for individual blood collections with regard to timing of test, special techniques or preparations needed, and proper handling and transport. Must recognize discrepancies and be able to resolve. Routes all specimens to appropriate area for testing. Follows OSHA standards.
