JOB TITLE : FLOAT RN: GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Float RN who provides nursing support across Pre Op, OR, and PACU as needed to maintain patient flow, safety, and efficient daily operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for the pre-operative patient - Records and reports to appropriate persons all symptoms, reactions, abnormalities and changes in the physical and/or mental conditions of the patients - Administers medications and treatments ordered by the physician. - Cares and discharges pre-operative patients according to facility policies. - Reviews the pre-operative patient’s chart for accuracy and completeness - • Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly - Assists the surgical team by circulating cases and maintaining a sterile and safe environment - Performs surgical time out and verifies patient, procedure, and site according to policy - Communicates effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and team members during procedures - Documents intraoperative care accurately in the medical record - Monitors patient safety throughout the procedure and res...
