Job Title: FAA Level III Armed Security Officer Report To: Site Captain Business Unit: Federal Physical Security Benefit Eligibility: Eligible (Full-time) Category: Regular Full-Time FLSA: Non-Exempt Position Summary The Security Officer position at an FAA Facility is responsible for providing physical security and safeguarding FAA employees, facilities, U.S. Government property and assets from loss, theft, damage, unauthorized use, criminal acts, espionage, sabotage and terrorism. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Access Control – Provide courteous, timely service while maintaining control of all Personnel and Vehicles entering the facility and deny entry of any unauthorized person(s), property, or vehicles to area(s) defined and described in in the Facility Post Orders, Security Plan and/or Task Order. - Screening – Evaluate, Process and Screen all Visitors, Vehicles, Mail/Parcels and Hand Carried Items in possession of visitors using hand inspection and/or metal detection and x-ray equipment as provided, defined and described in the Facility Post Orders.
