The Department of Ophthalmic Clinical Services is currently seeking an Ophthalmic Technician 1 to work at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. The Ophthalmic Technician 1 (OT1) is competent in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The position performs appropriate clinical testing in compliance with department standards and documents in the EMR system. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides support to providers which includes documentation in patient charts as required and directed for patient care. Provides patient-centric care. Adheres to University of Miami policies, standards, values, and required training. Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality. Follows best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control. Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
