Job description

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining and caring for all LU Facilities, on and off campus. The areas of responsibility of a Custodian are, but are not limited to cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash collection, removal, & disposal. Wiping, dusting, and cleaning of furniture. The Custodian is to maintain, provide and assure an esthetically pleasing, clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a variety of spaces including lobbies, hallways, dorms, bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, classrooms, offices, food service areas, and other public event areas. Any other duties as assigned. Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion is essential to this job. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. As essential personnel: you are expected to be available in the event of school closings, delays, shutdowns, and any emergencies including clean-up required because of severe weather incidents. Performs snow removal activities as assigned. Such as snow and ice removal from entrance ways and sidewalks.
