Job Title: HVDC & FACTS Planning and Integration Engineer – Technical Leader Location: Knoxville, TN Job Summary and Description: The Technical Leader in this position will perform research and development work on the planning and integration of HVDC and advanced transmission technologies, including different configurations of HVDC grid interconnections. The role will involve the development and implementation of strategies, methodologies, software tools, and simulation models for the evaluation and planning of complex transmission projects involving the use of these technologies. The successful candidate will join a growing team performing R&D on the integration of HVDC and power electronic based devices for transmission systems, focused on tackling planning and operation challenges and practical solutions from concept to actual design and implementation. Some of the tasks related to HVDC and FACTS research include: Influences project teams in the engineering aspects of the technical work.
