Job description
The operating Mechanic B is a launching point for a long career within the gas pressure control department. Employees on this role are trained with the intent for them to grow into the Operating Mechanic A title within 18 months. Core Responsibilities: - Operating Mechanics in this team will be enrolled in a specialized training plan with the intent to promoted to the Operating Mechanic A title by obtaining all required operator certifications within 18 months of hire. - Performs installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of gas regulating and monitoring equipment. - Use hand and power tools to service equipment. - Perform required maintenance associated with Con Edison's natural gas gate stations. Required Education/Experience: - High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of gas related experience. Relevant Work Experience: - 2 years Must possess basic mechanical/electrical skills such as: Tubing bending, Installation of conduit, Pipefitting, Flange on fitting connections, Screwed piping installation and - 2 years Must have working knowledge of requirements associated with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of gas regulating and monitoring equipment.
