Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: TITLE: Carpenter/Painter FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Maintenance JOB CLASS: 116: GENERAL SUMMARY: Prepares, levels and paints surfaces. Performs various carpentry duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Is able to work in the following fields under general supervision. · Carpentry – constructs, alters and repairs rafters, walls, doors, paneling, windows, furniture, trim and framing. Refinishes doors, woodwork and furniture with appropriate stain and varnish. · Painting – applies paint by way of accepted coating methods, including preparation and leveling of surfaces. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: · Moving and storage of furniture – transports furniture and equipment from one location to another without damaging. · May perform snow removal. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: · High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. · Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations · Possession of a valid Iowa driver’s license. · At least one year carpentry...
