Job description

Performs various routine or special chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic laboratory tests. The duties of a Medical Technologist may be specific to a particular area of the laboratory, such as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, or the blood bank. Experience - Preferred but not required Education - Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Medical Technology (MT) or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science Training - One year training in a NAACLS approved MT/CLS program Special Skills - Good interpersonal/human relations skills; Good oral/written communication skills; Good teamwork skills; Good critical thinking/decision making skills; Superior organizational skills Licensure - Licensed in Louisiana as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Specialist (CLS-S) with Registry in applicable specialty for department and position. - Productivity - Performs an acceptable productivity level without a significant error rate on a variety of medical technology procedures including but not limited to performing tests on cells and microorganisms in body fluids, examining growth patterns of bacteria and fungus in patient specimens a...
