Requisition Id 16223 Overview: We are seeking a Laboratory Technician who will focus on providing technical support and oversight of scientific laboratory spaces for neutron scattering researchers and technicians. The laboratory technician will enable researchers to safely access lab space and equipment to benefit neutron scattering experiments. Additionally, the qualified candidate will support sample management functions within the division to enable researchers to perform experiments. This position resides in the Labs and Soft Matter Group in the Sample Environment and Labs Section, Neutron Scattering Division, Neutron Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Major Duties/Responsibilities: Under general supervision provide technical support for the Neutron Scattering Division (NSD) User Laboratories and sample management. Performs basic laboratory housekeeping, ordering and organization. Interacts constantly with internal and external users of the laboratories.
