Job description

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Performs diagnostic procedures utilizing ultrasound for diagnosis of disease processes and delineation of both normal/abnormal anatomy as well as pathological conditions in areas of the human body. REPORTS TO: - Director—Radiology/ Department Manager JOB REQUIREMENTS: Supervisory Responsibilities: No: Minimum Education: Director—Radiology/ Department Manager: Degree: General: License/Certification Required: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within one year of completing the ultrasound program. Minimum Work Experience: New Graduate or 1 year of general radiology experience required. Sonography and pediatric experience preferred. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Operate Ultrasound equipment effectively to produce quality images. Ability to work flexible hours and alternate shifts. Rotate on call for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.Able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as radiological field advances, effective organizational and time management skills, effective written and verbal communication skills.
