Overview This position has a progression. PURPOSE STATEMENT: Performs skilled tasks of average difficulty following specific policies/procedures/methods in responding to written/verbal instructions regarding the installation, inspection, testing, adjusting, and repair of all types/models of gas utilization appliances/equipment and systems for residential/commercial/industrial users. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs all the job duties of a less complex nature of a Service Technician II to include inspecting and testing appliances, equipment and associated systems on customers premises and fixing the problem. Uses human senses, leak-detecting solution, and gas detection or measurement equipment such as leak detector, manometer, pressure gauge to detect problem and to verify that the problem has been corrected. - Locks, unlocks, reads, changes, and removes meters; initiates plugged service. Deliveries cylinders as directed. Investigates high bill complaints and completes service orders as to work performed.
