Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Safety and Health (S&H) Professional. This job function is responsible for oversight of Safety related programs and field support for both the R&D as well as Operations and Facility/Construction work performed at SRNL. This position requires expertise and knowledge in Safety and Health regulations, site policies and procedures, and consensus standards to maintain compliant S&H programs at SRNL. This position provides leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in the functional area of S&H. - Advanced communication skills used to implement programs and work effectively with customers. - Understands the role of the function and how it fits into meeting the goals of the laboratory. - Expertise in S&H programs, regulatory drivers, and DOE orders. - Does not manage employees, but may mentor and/or train subordinates. - Initiates improvements in S&H programs by understanding the needs of the customers and implementation of efficient and effective programs and field support. - Works safely with particular attention to quality.
