Environmental Specialist

Job description

Reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will proactively manage all aspects of environmental compliance for the facility. You will partner with plant and corporate teams to ensure operations meet all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement, sustainability initiatives, and responsible environmental stewardship. A Taste of Your Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and corporate environmental policies. - Manage the facility wastewater system, including interaction and reporting with municipal authorities, leading wastewater operations, and collaborating with engineering and maintenance to maintain system performance. - Oversee storm water compliance and air permit compliance activities. - Manage all waste disposal activities, including hazardous waste management and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate policy. - Assess waste suppliers at least once every three years to ensure compliance with their permits. - Lead sustainable development initiatives, including reduction in utility, energy, and material consumption,...
