The Manhattan HIV Brain Bank is looking for an Associate Researcher I (tissue bank laboratory research coordinator). Packaging and shipping samples. - Processing clinical fluid samples obtained from HIV and HCV infected patients. - Assisting with the rapid prosection of autopsies at Mount Sinai Hospital. Participate in call for the prosection of these cases after hours. - Photographing tissue specimens. - Dissection and cryopreservation of fluid and tissue specimens. - Maintaining a computer catalogue of collected tissue and fluid biospecimens and inventories. - Assist with preparation of histologic slides, performance of histochemical and immunohistochemical procedures. - Participate in ongoing research projects in the laboratory, using morphometric analysis and other tissue-based techniques. - General laboratory maintenance, ordering supplies. - Performs other related duties. - Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field required - No experience required. One year of research experience preferred. - Prior experience at a laboratory bench with basic techniques (pipetting, centrifugation, making solutions), and entry-level computer skills. - Some knowledge of histology...
