Job description

The Carpentry Shop Foreman is a dual role of providing supervision of day-to-day activities of the Carpentry Shop and performs maintenance and repair activities within this area. This department provides maintenance and repair services to campus for carpentry, roof repair/maintenance, painting, and signage in all facilities. Primary Responsibilities: Supervises, plans, and schedules work for the Carpentry Shop (including masonry inspections, roof repairs, painting, signage, and repair of walls, ceilings, windows, and doors) and assures that all assignments are properly manned Inspects work in progress and completed in assigned shops to ensure customer satisfaction As foreman, is on-call for emergency situations on Campus after hours, and is responsible for participating in the on-call list for all non-work hours and supporting other work groups (electrical and mechanical) in emergency situations Assists in providing input to upper management on outside training requirements for shop employees Provides assistance in upgrading employee work skills through on-the-job training and in-house training Provides assistance in estimating type of materials, supplies, and equipment required as...
