Job Description Interprets, compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies, using standard physical and chemical procedures to fill written prescriptions issued by physicians, and other qualified prescribers. Enters drug orders into computer profile. Job Responsibility: *ADA Essential Functions - * Reads and interprets physician medication orders. - * Maintains patient medication profile including, but not limited to,orders, changes discontinuation and drug allergies. - * Monitors and documents patient drug therapy including, but not limit to dose, timing, drug interactions or contraindications. - * Notifies and consults with the physician (and nurse when appropriate) on drug dosage, drug interactions or contraindications, medication errors or omissions, non-formulary requests, etc and documents this consultation when appropriate. - * Functions as the drug information specialist to professional staff on drug therapy. - * Conducts and participates in educational activities for health professions, staff, students of various health care professions and patients. - * Formulates and prepares pharmaceutical dosage forms, as needed. - * Prepares I.V sterile drug pro...
