*DB2 Database Engineer

Job description

Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a DB2 Database Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our DB2 on Linux servers, understand software development methodologies and work with development, platform, security, and infrastructure teams to support the databases at Zurich. Specific duties include: assist with creation and maintenance of end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management of database services; design and implement database structures that meet the business requirements while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance; develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks; perform database tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime; provide consultation to business personnel, the development team and infrastructure team with the design and support of host systems with client and internal applications by participating in project meetings; design DB2 solutions including architecture, deployment processes, providing end-to-end database support for cloud services through monitoring, incident response, and incident resol...
