Department: Planning and Development Services Start Here. Grow Here. Stay Here. Planning and Development Services is excited to welcome a Mechanical Inspector I or II to our Building Division team! In this role, you’ll get out in the field and play a hands-on part in keeping our community safe by inspecting buildings during construction and repairs, ensuring everything meets approved plans and building codes. You’ll also document your inspections using our Accela system, helping keep projects moving smoothly and efficiently. If you enjoy a role that combines technical expertise with meaningful interaction, this could be a great fit. You’ll regularly connect with contractors, team members, and the public, answering questions, offering guidance, and delivering excellent customer service. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with Microsoft Office, eager to learn systems like Accela and Workday, and confident in interpreting codes and regulations. A positive, solutions-focused approach and strong communication skills will set you up for success. Relevant DBPR licenses are a plus.
