Job description

Overview Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment dispensed by the department, following infection control practices and guidelines. Responsibilities: - Follows manufacturer instructions for use for steam and low temperature sterilization - Follows manufacturer instructions for use for decontamination, disinfection of instruments, and flexible endoscopes according to department standards and industry guidelines - Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrument kits - Demonstrates knowledge of how to properly inspect and assemble kits - Adheres to hospital policies for CSR as well as follow AAMI guidelines (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instruments - Performs equipment testing: Bowies and Biologicals, and reports any abnormal results to the supervisor - Delivery of sterile instruments and kits in a timely manner, within 48 hours, to other departments within the hospital - Maintains a clean work environment in accordance to regulator guidelines and hospital policy.
