Description The Center for the Advanced Study of India ( CASI ) and the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications to fill a postdoctoral fellowship position for the 2025-2026 academic year. For this position, we seek a scholar whose research focuses on one or more of the following areas: environment-society relations, cities and urbanization, and climate change. We are open to applicants from a range of disciplinary traditions, particularly anthropology, architecture, geography, and planning. Candidates who have experience with multimedia production and/ or skills in critical cartography (video, web-based platforms, GIS) are especially encouraged to apply. We also encourage applications from candidates whose research focuses on enduring inequities, such as those of caste, indigeneity, gender and sexuality. CASI welcomes applications from scholars who have received their Ph.D. or equivalent degrees, or who will complete their degree by June 30, 2025.
