Job description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations. - Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. - Replaces parts on a scheduled basis. - Troubleshoots, diagnoses heavy equipment malfunctions and replaces, repairs or rebuilds. - Dismantles and reassembles mobile and stationary equipment using hoists, handtools, and power tools. - Uses blueprints and follows manuals and parts lists in setting up and performing repairs and any rebuilds. Other Duties/Responsibilities: - Operate equipment to diagnose problems. - Perform other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Background in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment. - Ability to use prints and manuals. - Understanding of hydraulics. - Electrical systems. - Understanding of mechanical gear and drive systems. - Diagnostic skills. - Properties of various fuels and oils. - Proper lifting / handling materials. - Lock and tag-out procedures. - Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.
