JOB DESCRIPTION: BASIC FUNCTION: - Coordinates the facility plant(s) in various health and safety practices and programs designed to safeguard all employees in a working environment that is conducive to their well-being - Recommends and spearheads specific actions to ensure that the plant complies with all federal, state, provincial, and local laws related to the health and safety of employees - Administers the plant’s risk management program designed to minimize physical and financial exposure resulting from potential, alleged, or actual on-the-job injuries SPECIFIC DUTIES: - Becomes thoroughly familiar with and recommends action to keep the plant in compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local, and provincial health and safety laws - Apprises the Plant Manager and Human Resources Manager of all safety related problems - Directs and serves as Advisor of the Plant Safety Committee - Conducts or assists in plant 5S and safety inspections.
