Job Summary Under the general direction of the Animal Science Department Head, this position provides comprehensive instructional technical support services for faculty and students in the Animal Health Center. The Animal Health Center consists of a flexible lecture/lab classroom, an applied research laboratory, and a veterinary clinic for teaching and the care of Cal Poly livestock. The IST aids in scheduling the availability of equipment, instruments, and facility utilization as well as coordinating maintenance needs with appropriate technicians/vendors. The IST will assist with and/or coordinate the set-up and take-down of materials for academic courses, and pre- and post-veterinary medical procedures. They will also maintain inventory and procurement of needed supplies. The IST will also support faculty and student research projects. The IST helps implement and monitor appropriate safety and hygiene policies for the different functional regions of the Animal Health Center.
