Overview: Job Description Summary: Assists genetic counselors in providing support to patients and families by collecting and organizing medical information, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records. Job Description: Essential Functions: - Provides excellent service to both internal and external customers by applying best practices and standard operating procedures. - Prepares correspondence, documents, reports and other materials which may be moderately complex or confidential, sometimes requiring independent judgment. Schedules appointments for department staff as appropriate. - Obtain applicable records and results from outside providers and laboratories. - Communicates with families regarding pre-clinic information, insurance prior authorization, sample collection, result disclosure, future plan and updates to families at the direction of clinical staff. - Manages lists of established genetics patients and monitors status of pending clinical work-up. - Manages entering patient data in Ohio Department of Health and other research-based databases. - Works cross functionally with laboratories, genetic counselors, clinicians and others regarding testing, status upd...
