The Public Health Burse will independently provide professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes and schools as well as other community or congregate care settings. The incumbent would perform nursing assessments, may perform lab tests, take measurements, develop and implement care plans to include the administration of medication and case management. Participates in public health emergencies and community health assessments. Actions performed at this level require licensure as a RN by state code. May supervise support staff. VDH requires all Health-Care Personnel (HCP) to provide documentation of immunization or evidence of immunity to the following: hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella; a one-time dose of tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine regardless of the i...
