Job description

The Plumber will be responsible for all the duties listed, but not limited to the following below: performs skilled plumbing work in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing system, fixtures and equipment. Work is performed independently, under the general supervision of the Plumber Foreman and in accordance with standard trades practice. Work is performed at County buildings and involves the use of hand and power tools and equipment. The plumber may work on equipment above ground level. The working conditions of the jail present a potentially dangerous environment for workers. Required Tasks: - Coordinate, schedule, train and assign work to sheet metal workers. - Supervise sheet metal staff. - Conduct health and safety inspections. - Assemble pipe sections, tubing or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing or welding equipment. - Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwasher or water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools - Keep records of work assignments. - Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broke...
