Job description
The Team: The Team within the Department of Health Tasmania’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Unit works collaboratively to strengthen the State’s readiness for, and response to, health emergencies. In the role of Policy and Project Officer, the focus is on supporting the development and implementation of sound policies, projects, and planning activities that enhance emergency preparedness and response capability. The team values cooperation, clear communication, and continuous improvement, working closely with stakeholders to support coordinated, effective outcomes that protect community health and wellbeing. The Role: The Emergency Preparedness and Response Unit (EPRU) is responsible for whole-of-Agency emergency management for the Department of Health. Under the direction of the Project Manager – Critical Incident Response, the role supports the development, implementation and monitoring of a critical incident response program for staff affected by critical incidents and occupational violence and aggression, including an aligned training program.
