Job description

Reporting directly to the Transportation Supervisor, the driver/operator is responsible for loading, transporting, and offloading TDG regulated and non-regulated industrial liquid waste while assuring all regulations, policies, and procedures are followed. Key Accountabilities: - Active participant in GFL Environmental, Health & Safety Program. - Attend all safety meetings. - Report all incidents, accidents, and or near misses, equipment damage as soon as they happen. - Wear required PPE for the task and ensure that it is maintained in good condition. - Comply with Corporate and Regulatory policies and procedures. - Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration and weights and dimensions. - Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. - Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is i...
