Description Job purpose: EMG Technician will assist the Physician in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care by operating diagnostic equipment in order to diagnose diseases, injuries and abnormalities. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform or learn diagnostic electromyography testing procedures. Duties and responsibilities: - Performs nerve conduction studies on patients following the guidelines and procedures of The American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists under the supervision of a Physician. - Performs nerve conduction studies on both common and uncommon nerves to aid the Physician in the best studies to reveal abnormalities. - Recognizes and troubleshoots physiologic and non-physiological artifact and technical issues, while recognizing normal and abnormal results to take the reasonable steps to obtain the best study on the patient. - Performs Nerve conduction studies independently in routine settings under direct supervision of the Physician - Cleans, replenishes, maintains and assures availability of instruments and supplies needed in the EMG Lab. - Assists Physician as needed during the needle examination and sets...
