Job description
To assist Pharmacists in areas of the department, master technical skills and develop professionally. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares and distributes medications according to prescription or physician order. Completes all of the following activities: Unit Dose - Includes packaging, filling, and distributing medications. Prepackages medications for use in unit dose. Orders drugs and supplies using PAR stock levels (where available); stock shelves. Delivery - Includes the transportation of medications and supplies from the pharmacy to areas outside the pharmacy. This includes medication cart delivery and floor stock to: Cardiac Catheter Lab, OB anesthesia kits, Scheduled runs, Crash carts A basic understanding of pharmacy computer systems is required. Must understand the Epic RX message system, compounding repackaging and dispense check. Medical terminology - Understands and is able to communicate with other healthcare professionals using basic medical terminology.
