Description The Yard Foreman is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the lumber and materials yard. This leadership position ensures safe and efficient loading, receiving, inventory management, and team supervision. The Yard Foreman plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-focused yard environment, while upholding SBSI’s standards for safety, productivity, and service. Requirements: Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Supervision: - Direct and supervise yard associates, forklift drivers, and loaders to ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently - Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity, accuracy, and adherence to procedures - Train, coach, and develop yard team members to meet operational standards - Foster a respectful and collaborative team environment that prioritizes safety, accountability, and service - Provide feedback, document performance issues, and escalate concerns to management as needed Safety & Compliance: - Enforce all company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including the use of PPE and proper lifting techniques - Lead by example in maintaining a clean, hazard-free yard and safe equipment operation - Con...
