Overview POSITION TITLE (Oracle title): MECHANIC V: WORKING TITLE: Field Technician Supervisor: SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT: Transportation: LOCATION: Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, NC: PAY GRADE: Noncertified Grade 29: FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt: ELIGIBILITY FOR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT: No: WORK WEEK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (weekends and on call, as needed) Rotate working either: 5:30am-2:30pm, 7:00am-4:00pm or 9:00-6:00pm POSITION PURPOSE: Performs complex duties in the operation, repair and maintenance of school buses in the transportation program. Correctly diagnosis’ and repairs school bus engines, ensuring prompt return to service. Completes required reports to capture all labor, parts and materials expended while performing inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs in maintenance software. Ensures resource efficiency. Provides guidance and support/assistance to other mechanics.
