Job description

Manages patient’s admissions, insurance coverage, bed coverage, and discharge. - Collect, verify, and input patient information paperwork with appropriate financial and demographic forms into the M.I.S system - Obtains all old medical record numbers from the Medical Records Department for patients previously in the system, or when appropriate assigns new medical record number - Receives information from the Emergency Department on incoming emergency admissions. - Admits and interviews patients scheduled for elective, emergency, OB, ambulatory surgery and pre-admission prior to admission to the hospital following established procedures - Registers people for private outpatient registration office. Completes corresponding charge forms and documentation - Registers patients having pre-admission testing services - Interviews patients privately before, during or after the services for financial screening to update insurance information or other pertinent data - Ensures all admissions are given admission information which includes but is not limited to: The Patient’s Bill of Rights, Discharge information, A Welcome booklet, hospital policies and procedures regarding room rates and financ...
