JOB SUMMARY: The Material Manager is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing and planning for our Warwick RI facility. This role will assist with developing and implementing supplier and commodity strategies for sourcing direct & indirect items as well as planning & scheduling internally in the factory to ensure we are meeting customer needs. This position will drive continuous improvement throughout the areas of responsibility, often applying the appropriate lean principles. The Materials Manager supervises the Buyer/Planner I positions and is expected to be involved in the tactical day-to-day processes in their areas of responsibility. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Provide effective development and coaching of direct reports to improve overall effectiveness of the supply chain team including setting meaningful, clear goals and objectives. - Source direct materials, indirect materials, and services that align demand to sourcing activities to support the manufacturing operations. - Assists in developing and implementing strategies for suppliers and commodities to provide the highest quality products, on time, with the lowest total cost of ownership. - Create scorecards and conduct...
