Job Description Under the supervision of the Manager, Library Service Center, the Library Service Center Specialist enables patron access to library materials and assists in the management of university records held in University Libraries remote storage buildings. Operates motor vehicles and powered lift equipment in support of library courier services and warehouse operations. Promotes the safety of all staff by complying with relevant protocols and participating in training and other activities of the facility health and safety program. Work location: Library Service Center, Energy Drive, Blacksburg, VA (not on main VT campus) Required Qualifications: -Proven experience in a front-line customer service environment -Experience executing complex work tasks with close attention to detail -Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft or Google Docs) -Must be able to safely operate powered lifting equipment -Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing -Must be able to safely, routinely, and independently lift, move boxes and bins weighing 50+ lbs -Must be able to safely climb and work from highly elevated locations (up to 40 ft. high) -Must complet...
