Job description

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS: Provision of IT Support services for the development and operation of the local IT environments Collaboration with the ICT Team to manage and develop ICT centralized service Installation, configuration and maintenance of servers' operating systems Performing minor (patching) and major Operating System upgrades as requested, in compliance with the Commission IT security policies and best practices Performing preliminary diagnosis of software and hardware problems, also in co-ordination with the central IT departments Scripting & configurations in context of systems & infrastructure; install, configure and maintain system scripting procedures Handling of backups and restore operations of systems & infrastructure; manage the specific SuFiA backup infrastructure Administration of scientific users in line with ICT policies Monitoring of and responding to system and application logs (error logs, disk checks, virus-malware checks) Maintaining technical documentation: Provision of capacity planning analysis.
