Job description
Description The Kolis research group in the Department of Chemistry at Clemson University is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an existing project involving the synthesis and development of single crystal fibers for high powered laser applications. The project is part of a center funded by the Space and Missile Defense Command to general new materials for high powered lasers. The focus of Kolis group research for this project is on the growth of novel single crystal fibers of doped oxides using LHPG and exploring cladding processes using high temperature hydrothermal growth. The project is a collaborative program that employs these single crystal fibers for development of high energy lasers for US Army applications. The anticipated start date is flexible but late May 2026 is preferred . The appointment will be for one year with options for yearly renewal based on performance and funding availability.
