Supervises or leads engineering functions for assigned regional area or office. Services as a subject matter expert providing technical and procedural guidance and expertise to other staff. Characteristics include establishing priorities and assigning work, auditing and approving other engineers' work, participates in engineering design evaluation for new waterworks or waterworks considering modification, monitoring new and improved facilities, conducting non-routine and final inspections, as well as interpreting regulations for owners, operators, local government, engineering consultants, and other staff.
