Description General Summary of the Position: As a Youth Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional, physical, and social well-being of adolescent and youth residents. Working in small group settings, you and your team will ensure that the individuals in our care thrive and achieve their goals. The Counselor will provide targeted support to help youth aged 10 to 19 who are facing disciplinary issues at school, conflicts at home, or challenges within their community. overcome obstacles and develop healthy coping strategies. Primary Responsibilities/ Tasks: 1. Conduct evidence-based focus groups utilizing the Positive Action curriculum to help youth cope with issues related to family dynamics, abusive histories, substance abuse, and other challenges. 2. Provide bi-weekly individual counseling sessions to each youth in the caseload, addressing their specific emotional and behavioral needs. 3. Offer additional support to youth and family members by facilitating therapeutic sessions or referring them to appropriate therapeutic resources. 4.
