Within the context of a client and family-centred care model, position provides clinical scheduling and medical secretarial support to the Eye Care Centre by methods such as scheduling and booking patient appointments in accordance with various health professionals' schedules, making adjustments to patient schedules in the event of cancellations, coordinating documentation required for patient visits, transcribing medical dictation such as diagnostic interpretation reports and fluorescein angiogram medical reports utilizing dictating equipment, typing technical and non-technical material utilizing intermediate wordprocessing software, maintaining records on patient visits and related material, preparing billing information and standard statistical reports utilizing spreadsheet software, and acting as clinic receptionist in accordance with established procedures.
