Job description

This position is an integral resource for MidAmerican Energy’s Damage Prevention Program, designed to measure and lessen damages to MidAmerican’s gas facilities. This position is visual to the public and will carry out activities to support and promote the damage prevention program. This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise. Performs audits of utility locating contractors or MEC locators to ensure tickets are completed within applicable state one call laws, marking standards, accuracy and documentation including proper standby notification. Knowledge of utility locating best practices, proper standby process, excavation best practices and applicable state one call laws. Performs analysis of locates in areas of high locate volumes and identified heavy hitter contractors for site visits and/or communication to the excavators of protective measures which must be taken during excavation, boring, trenching or horizontal directional drilling to prevent accidental damage to MEC gas facilities.
